Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)
Please find below some of the most frequently asked questions about this product. If you have a question that isn’t answered here then click on the chat button in the bottom right of the screen and we will be happy to help you.
- What is the difference between a M1E and a M15E?
They are in essence the same printer, the printer specifications are identical as is the physical size. There are only two differences: The price and the type of media used. M1E media cannot be used in a M15E and M15E media can't be used in a M1E
- Why have two different models which are the same?
This type of pricing strategy is not new in the printer market and laser printer manufacturers have been offering these type of products for some time. It allows them to sell the product at different prices for different markets.
- Which should I buy?
This depends upon on how many prints you plan to do. If you are using it for home use then the M15E would probably be the best buy but for higher volumes the M1E would possibly be a better buy.

What we think…
We are unique in that we actually use the equipment we sell so are best placed to comment on our own experiences. Honesty has always has been a key part of our advice since we started in 1991.
What we LIKE
Ideal for situations where you need a large print capacity like photo booths etc.
The D90 also has rollback technology so printing 6×4 and 6×8 from 6×8 media has no wastage.
Anti Curl Technology is quite useful
A much less expensive version (M15E) is available for home users (media is slightly dearer)
Front loading media is easy.
What we DISLIKE
Not much but if we are being picky: No 6×9 option.

“Very happy with the results, always preferred Dye-Sub ,a colleague had a Mitsubishi in his shop / studio for years . I prefer matte finish and prints are colourful but not OTT. Exceeded my expectations.
The Mitsubishi M15E is fast and high-quality prints in a compact and sturdy printer. Took me a little while to figure setup on first attempt, but once there it was easy. Particularly like side access for cables and power, not hidden at back, so efficient use of shelf space. Only downside is output tray doesn’t catch 6×8 prints, just 6×4, but not an issue to me.
Well what can I say, I really wasn’t sure about these type of printers, but with help and advice from Stuart, I took the plunge and bought this one.
ITS AMAZING, the print quality is astounding, the cost per print is only around 10p for an 8×6, it prints direct from lightroom (editor: and any other software) so no additional software required and its a total doddle to set up and use.
For £350 its a total no brainer for amateurs or professionals who want a lab quality 8×6 photo printer with no inks to worry about drying out!
We used to use a HiTi 730PS which we’ve had for years and years but media became difficult to get. The team at System Insight recommended this printer and it cost almost the same as what we paid for the HiTi 10+ years ago. This printer is SO much better than our old HiTi. It is super fast, has paper on a roll rather than separate sheets and is SO cheap to run. We used to pay £25 for 50 prints on our old 730PS and now we pay less than £100 for 750 prints. That is insane!! A box of media will last us years now. Printing photos at home has now become fun again. We did try an inkjet printer but the results where so hit and miss and we ate through ink cartridges. This printer is a dream come true. Thank you System Insight and Mitsubishi. p.s. It also works on my Apple Mac !
