The affects of Covid-19 are starting to affect our industry and impact on the supplies of printers and media.

We’ve all seen how most industries have been affected during the pandemic with supplies of most items.

The main reasons for the delays are as follows:

• Many business have been closed around the world meaning that production may have stopped of been seriously curtailed.
• Customer may not have placed forward orders on manufacturers due to staff shortage throughout Covid lockdowns.
• Businesses may have reduced production because of reduced demand
• Shipping has become more costly by sea due to the amount of Covid-19 products being shipped and the reduced capacity.
• The blockage of the Suez Canal meant deliveries where delayed.
• Reduced staffing levels in manufacturers business meant stock planning and ordering was affected.

What Products are currently being affected?

Due to the large numbers of orders we are receiving the list may be likely to change.

How long with these problem last?

In our opinion reduced availability will be seen for the rest of the year due to limited supply, timescales for shipping by sea and panic buying by customers. Supplies will hopefully start to appear mid / end October

We are processing orders on a first come first served basis, you don’t have to pay for the goods now but just secure your place in the queue by placing an order. When goods arrive they will be shipped to you and charged unless you cancel in the meantime.

Why has the price increased of some products?

We are obtaining some media from mainland Europe which means increased freight costs which we are having to pass on. Standard pricing will revert once supplies revert to normal and we are buying direct from the manufacturer again.

Are there any other options?

Yes, it is possible that other media can be used in your printer. As an example some printers will print 2 x 6×4 on a 6×8 or 6×9 print. Another option is to upgrade to a manufacturer that has supply of the media although this would mean purchasing another printer and this option may not be available for very long.
