Wow!!!

I was originally going to buy a Kodak 9810 from a competitor of System Insight. Fortunately for me their sales service was so poor I cancelled and gave System Insight a call, they recommended the CP3800. There was lots to favor it, cheaper by a few hundred pounds, forty pence a 10×8 print cheaper and it is loses quite a few pounds in weight over the Kodak. The CP3800 is no light weight or cheaply made contender, it produces beautifully saturated and natural looking prints. Even at 300dpi the prints are crisp, people that have viewed them have invariably have remarked “wow!” The build quality is very good, it is amazingly small and compact. It knocks out prints so quick you have to be on your guard, there is no paper tray and it literally fires the prints out. For the time being there are no drivers for vista or 64 bit XP, a bit of a pain for me but I can forgive that on the merit of the prints, I am a very happy man! I can,t say more than System Insight have described in in there preview, this machine is an eventers dream and I think any photographer would be more than happy to own one of these beaut’s! Thank you System Insight, your sales and aftercare are first rate, a pleasure to do business with.

Great Printer

Fast, quick and easy to set up, and prints seamlessly. Couldn’t have asked for anything better!

Totally Awesome

I love this printer because it delivers and does as exactly what it should do. It’s not as heavy as the older versions or models but 30lbs could put a strain on your back, wrist, or foot.LOL!!! I love the speed, quality, and the end results: the print out. You could never go wrong with this printer. I wish they had it in a smaller, slim line, and light weight (10 to 18 lbs) version. I am currently using it for a photobooth.

Consistent quality output in a well made printer

I previously liked the 8 x 10 inch output from dye-sublimation printing machines, having become familiar with their possibilities at events when using a Kodak 8500. (I think it used a Mitsubishi printer engine) When it became obvious that I required a new printer (following an OS update for a Mac and Kodak’s rather tired printer driver) I looked at Mitsubishi’s range of printers and settled on the 3800 after some illuminating discussion with the staff at the well-named System Insight. The machine is very well constructed and is fast in use. It produces reliably consistent output for 8 x 12 inch and 8 x 10 inch prints in an end to end colour-managed workflow. The printer calibration, so that screen and printed output match each other quite closely, is a very simple process. The fixed costs of dye-sublimation ribbon and paper keeps output costs under control. The sealed paper path and roll-fed media keep the print operation dust-free (not so easy to do with the sheet-fed Kodak 8500) so that every print is pristine and dust spot free. Some people may feel that a paper catching system would be a welcome addition. I don’t think it is absolutely necessary because the prints are ejected, after printing and cutting, with some speed but it is never too fast to predict and catch the print as it exits the machine nor does it stop the machine from spitting the prints onto the working surface upon which the printer is stood. I prefer to have the neat, uncluttered lines and small outline and footprint of the printer without there being any additional stuff to carry. All of my clients are very satisfied when they see the excellent print quality and the clear-coated surface of the print just shrugs off fingerprints. As a Mac user, I would like to see some additional developments in the print driver supplied by Mitsubishi… specifically related to size and layout options on a single 12 x 8 piece of the supplied media. It is difficult to find any faults with this printer and I can strongly recommend the CP3800DW to any professional photographer who needs to produce consistent quality 8 x 10 or 8 x 12 inch output for a fixed and known cost. I have watched many of my colleagues struggling to get decent output with inkjet printers and various paper and ink combinations. All I need now is a dye-sublimation printer which can cope with A2 sized media. :o) (are you listening Mitsubishi?)

Awesome is the only way to descibe this printer!

When you read the specs for a printer it sounds impressive. When you actually see the printer do its stuff, then it’s awesome. The speed and quality need to be seen to be believed. What’s more, the printer couldn’t be easier to setup and use… and all this in a fairly compact and portable package. My only quibble is with the supplied drivers – they don’t run on Window’s Vista, hopefully this will be addressed soon. My thanks to Stuart and the team at System Insight for such quick delivery of this little bundle of joy!

WOW factor and Happy Customers !!!!!!!

We at Jenkins Photography managed to get the CP3800 back in December from Stuart at System Insight. We were originally going to buy a second CP9550-DWS from System Insight to match my current set-up. However after speaking to Stuart and explaining what we were trying to achieve with the second printer he mention that they had a the new CP3800 and explained its capabilities we decided that this would give us even more opportunities so we ordered one. From the moment it comes out of the box you can tell that you have bought a quality printer. It produces outstanding prints very quickly, the only problem been the speed that are ejected from the printer (we are sure system insight will have a tray to catch them in on the drawing board soon). if you want the “wow factor!” and see the stunned looks on your customers faces when they get there high quality images very quickly, then we recommend you get the CP3800. Thanks to Stuart and the team once again for your excellent service and back up that can always be counted on.

Value for Money

The Mitsubishi CP3800DW Printer is fantastic value for money. It arrived the day after I submitted the order. Extremely well packed. Initially installed on a “Windows 7” laptop with no gliches. Windows 8.1 would not accept the drivers but a quick call to SystemInsight resolved the problem with immediately emailed instructions. Now working on both operating systems using Adobe Lightroom. The setup of the printer and media was straightforward – watch YouTube submissions if you have any problems. Although a little heavy, the printer has a small footprint and conveniently fits under my laptop. The output quality is stunning (even at 300x300DPI)! You need a little practice to ensure that size and orientation are correct for multiple prints and sizes. Always double check or the print will be cut across the image. Otherwise a highly recommended product. Thank you to SystemInsight for advice and telephone support.
